DUBAI, India -- The announcements keep coming from Indian financial institutions that are signing agreements to open their ATM networks.
According to a report in Asian Banker, Corporation Bank and Dena Bank have decided to share their networks, which will bring the combined number of ATMs open to customers of both banks to 600 later in the first quarter.
Corporation Bank already has 252 ATMs installed, with plans for an additional 250 by March. Dena Bank has 47 ATMs, and 26 are currently networked.
Corporation Bank signed a similar agreement with Bank of Rajasthan (BoR) in November and with the Oriental Bank of Commerce in November.
An agreement between public sector banks Indian Bank, North Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank and United Bank of India will give customers of those institutions access to a total of more than 2,000 ATMs, according to Asian Banker.
