EDINBURGH, United Kingdom -- Ace Cash Express, Inc. (NASDAQ:AACE), a Texas-based check-cashing chain, recently deployed more than 270 self-service machines running KAL's Kalignite platform
The Kalignite software allows deployers to offer a variety of transaction services including check cashing, bill payment, money transfers, prepaid long distance and wireless transactions and money orders, as well as traditional ATM transactions.
According to a news release, Ace Cash Express had deployed a similar system on a smaller scale in 2002 using a software platform provided by a KAL competitor but elected to redesign the system and switch to Kalignite for the new deployment.
Steve Hensley, executive vice president of sales for KAL, said in the release, "Ace is providing some very advanced transaction services and they ported and deployed their application very quickly."
