LONDON -- Moneybox Corp. has awarded NCR Corp. a contract to supply ATMs at gas stations, fast-food restaurants and service stations in the Netherlands.
According to a news release, NCR will provide 250 Personas 70 ATMs as well as installation and maintenance services.
The ATMs will feature the company's Fluiditi technology, a security feature that protects cash during replenishment as well as inside the ATM by activating indelible ink during an attack, making the cash worthless. Fluiditi Ltd is a wholly owned NCR subsidiary. (See related story ATM security to dye for)
NCR's Fluiditi technology will be "a key enabler" in growth of the European convenience ATM market, said Christophe Primault, managing director of Fluiditi Ltd, in the release. "In adopting this end-to-end solution, our customers are sending a clear message to thieves -- 'Don't bother, there'll be nothing worth stealing.'"
Moneybox was the first non-bank to deploy ATMs in the Netherlands. The company has installed 100 machines, mostly at Shell and BP petrol stations and McDonald's restaurants. (See related stories ISO expansion in the UK and Moneybox to install ATMs at McDonald's in Holland)
