NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Diebold has added a through-the-wall, drive-up unit to Opteva, its newest line of ATMs.
The Opteva 740 drive-up joins the 760, the 720, the 560 and the 520, all walk-up models.
Diebold spent between $80 million and $100 million in global research and development on the Opteva line, which was introduced in mid-March, The machines are manufactured at Diebold's facility in Lexington, N.C.
The Opteva 740 drive-up can be configured in a variety of ways, including as a cash dispenser for fast-cash lanes or as an advanced-function ATM.
With Diebold's Intelligent Depository Module, which accepts a check deposit without the use of an envelope, and a bulk note acceptor that can accept a stack of 100 notes, it can be configured for automated deposits.
"Opteva 740 meets the needs of financial institutions and other ATM deployers by allowing a broader range of transactions to be completed through the self-service channel," said Diebold senior vice president Danny O'Brien, in a news release.
The 740 is the first drive-up ATM to offer a two-color receipt printer with the ability to print full-sized statements and loan applications without having to visit a branch, according to the release.
The Opteva 740 will be introduced next week at The Advisory Group's (TAG's) 2003 national conference in Miami. The Advisory Group is a user's organization that puts Diebold's customers in contact with each other and with Diebold to share solution approaches to self-service issues and opportunities.
