ROSEVILLE, Calif. -- Eracom Technologies, a developer and supplier of cryptographic technologies and solutions, says that its ProtectServer Orange, a FIPS 140 certified PCI cryptographic adapter, has achieved the status of smart Visa Ready as Host Security Module Encryption Hardware.
According to a news release, the smart Visa program is a Visa initiative to provide its member institutions with the necessary tools to build next-generation secure infrastructure. Eracom's ProtectServer Orange has qualified as a hardware security module (HSM) to provide cryptographic operations for strong symmetric key authentication, protection of password and user credentials as well as certificate management.
ProtectServer Orange is a FIPS 140 Level 3 certified PCI cryptographic adapter, used to provide cryptographic services and secure key storage, according to the release.
ProtectServer Orange can be used in a broad range of applications including PKI (public key infrastructure), ATM networks, smart card issuance and management, branch network security, Certification Authorities (CA), Registration Authorities (RA), electronic commerce systems or any other applications requiring secure communications, archival or authentication.
