Beginning Aug. 1, Bank One will no longer allow its customers to use another bank's ATM to make deposits. The bank also will no longer accept deposits from non-Bank One customers at its ATMs. Bank One spokesman Tom Kelly says the change will have little impact on most people because such a few number of non-Bank One deposits are made at its ATMs. Two other Chicago financial institutions, LaSalle and Harris banks, plan to continue accepting deposits made at ATMs belonging to competitors, according to the AP. Bank One has 465 deposit-taking ATMs in the Chicago area. Earlier this month, the bank announced it would replace 320 ATMs, a third of its Chicago fleet, with updated machines featuring larger touchscreens with full-color graphics, voice prompts for the visually impaired and Web capability. Bank One changes ATM deposit policy
CHICAGO -- Bank One customers will soon have fewer places to make deposits, according to an Associated Press report.
