OMAHA, Neb. -- BB&T Corporation, the 11th largest financial holding company in the U.S. with over $91 billion in assets, has licensed ACI Worldwide's (Nasdaq:TSAI) BASE24-es software. BB&T will use BASE24-es on an IBM zSeries platform to drive some 1,900 ATMs and process ATM and debit card authorizations.
"We determined that ACI's BASE24-es system offered the best solution to meet all of our current needs and the best foundation to take advantage of future opportunities," said Mark Piper, BB&T's senior vice president of ATM Management, in a news release.
BASE24-es can be used to acquire, authenticate, route, switch and authorize transactions across multiple channels, according to the release.
Among its capabilities are advanced scripting, which allow customers to better react to market demands. Scripting allows organizations to modify processing logic, for example, to introduce new authorization rules without modifying source code.
ACI introduced BASE24-es, which is available on the IBM zSeries and Sun Solaris systems in addition to HP NonStop systems, last November. (See related story ACI intros multi-platform version of BASE24 at RDS)
