STOCKHOLM - The ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) is co-hosting "ATM Sec Stockholm," its second European ATM security seminar, with Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB Group) at SEB Group's offices in Stockholm on Nov. 11.
According to a news release, the seminar will likely lead to the establishment of a European ATM Security Special Interest Group.
ATMIA is following up on the success of its first event of this kind, co-sponsored by Banksys in Brussels in May.
The seminar will be hosted by Alan Townsend, crime prevention coordinator of the London Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad, chairman of the ATM Security Working Group and chairman of Banknote Watch Trust. Speakers will include: Inspector Stig Sandgren, from the Bank Fraud Investigation Unit, Swedish Police, presenting on Scandinavian ATM crime; Philip Cleary, chief executive of SmartWater Technology, giving his insight as to how forensic science can reduce ATM crime; and Lachlan Gunn, director of BenAlpin Ltd, speaking about the subject of ATM security best practices.
One-day regional security seminars such as "ATM Sec Stockholm" give European ATM owners and service providers a convenient opportunity to listen and interact with industry speakers and to share ATM security experiences and best practice guidelines among themselves and across national borders, according to the release.
