VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Transaction processor Datawest Solutions Inc. (TSX: DS) has certified Qualtex Corporation's WeatherMaster ATM for use on Datawest's financial transaction processing switch, which provides services for more than 8,000 ATMs and 4,900 point-of-sale terminals.
The Qualtex WeatherMaster, a through-the-wall cash dispenser, is the second generation of Qualtex's MBC1031 ATM. Like that machine, the WeatherMaster has a rear screen and keypad for accessing management functions and a rear slide-out tray for the dispenser and printer, according to a news release.
Datawest, a member of the Interac Association, maintains a network of more than 100 ISO clients in Canada for its ATM and POS processing services.
Mike Kelso, president of Datawest's Payment Solutions Group, said in the release, "The addition of this machine extends our network reach in Canada and we are very optimistic
about potential growth of this device in our network."
