DALLAS - Carreker Corporation (Nasdaq: CANI), a provider of software and consulting services for the financial industry, has hired Lisa Peterson as its executive vice president and chief financial officer.
According to a news release, Peterson was most recently executive vice president, chief financial and administrative officer of Monarch Dental Corporation, a $200 million, publicly traded dental practice management company. During her tenure there, from 1999 to 2003, her responsibilities included accounting, investor relations, corporate governance, legal, human resources, treasury and risk management.

(Denny) Carreker, chairman and chief executive of Carreker Corporation, said in the release, "Lisa's background in a broad scope of financial and administrative matters will give her a high level of credibility among investors and bankers, and her strong leadership skills make her a valuable member of our management team."
Before Monarch Dental, Peterson's experience consisted of two years as chief financial officer for Viacom Retail Stores, Inc. (the retail and wholesale start-up division of Viacom, Inc.); six years culminating in the position of vice president and controller of Pearle Vision, Inc. (the optical retailer); one year as manager of internal audit at Zale Corporation (the national jewelry retailer); and 10 years as an auditor with Coopers and Lybrand (the accounting and consulting firm).
According to the release, Carreker provides products and services to more than 250 clients in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Clients include more than 75 of the largest 100 banks in the U.S.
