NEW YORK - AOS Technologies, Inc., a Fujitsu affiliate, has developed an Intensive Remote Monitoring (IRM) system which constantly feeds live digital images of ATM operations to the police or other law enforcement agencies.
According to a news release, the IRM system is operated from a remote, central location, linked to AOS's "DR-B104," a Web camera server, which stores the images from a location monitored by up to four network cameras.
An embedded hard disk drive will store up to 30 days worth of recorded and compressed images. They can be pulled up utilizing date and time search criteria in a short amount of time.
If combined with IP (Internet Protocol) phone, the IRM system will decrease the operational costs of the monitoring system by eliminating the costs of communication between the customer service and customers phoning in from ATM locations. Suruga Shinyo Bank, a leading Japanese financial institution, has implemented the IRM system.
The cost is $1 million per 100 ATM locations.
IRM will be available in the United States by the end of 2003, according to the release.
