LONDON - NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with HBOS, the financial services group formed by the merger of the Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, to supply hardware maintenance and support services across its ATM network, made up of 3,400 NCR machines and 350 Fujitsu machines.
The three-year contract replaces the seven suppliers, including Unisys and ICL, currently managing HBOS' ATM services. According to a news release, this commitment follows an approximate $18.7 million deal of NCR APTRA multivendor ATM software and upgrade kits in November 2002.
"More than 60 percent of our customers use HBOS ATMs on a monthly basis," said David Nicholson HBOS' head of Network Sales, in the release. "We believe NCR's heritage in self-service offers us the best opportunity to drive availability across the estate. We look forward to working with NCR to service a growing 30 million transactions a month."
As part of the deal, NCR will offer availability consulting and also will introduce a tiered service program combined with service levels agreements to reduce fault duration and increase ATM availability.
