CUPERTINO, Calif. - iS3 Inc. [i-s-cubed], a provider of secure key management solutions for network-connected devices, is introducing Secure OMS for ATMs, a new product based on the company's OMS system.
The scalable system will allow financial institutions and other operators of ATMs to meet networks' Triple DES and unique key per device (UKPD) mandates.
"Current Triple DES and UKPD mandates require financial institutions and operators of ATMs to support Triple DES keys and also to load unique keys to each ATM terminal," said Joerg Ferchau, iS3's chief executive, in a news release. "This is currently a manual process, usually requiring the dispatch of two-person teams to each ATM, which is inefficient, time-consuming, expensive, and insecure.
According to the release, Secure OMS for ATMs manages the electronic distribution of security content through the use of encryption and digital certificates. By removing the human from the key loading process at ATMs, iS3's product improves the security of ATMs.
The system also offers security at the host site by requiring encrypted entry into the system at the moment of PIN entry by users through black-boxed encrypted PIN pads. It also provides
hierarchical policy enforcement, thorough transactional data, and a real-time audit trail for user management..
According to the release, the core Secure OMS application is designed to run on both base-level platforms or high availability clustered systems for online production environments. It is a modular system, with support for additional devices, initially bank teller terminals and now ATMs, plugged in as they become available.
Secure OMS for ATMs will be priced from base level systems of $30,000 to high-end systems of more than $1 million.
