CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Trusted Security Solutions (TSS), developers of the A98 ATM Key Establishment System, and transaction processing software provider Mosaic Software have enhanced their existing three-year alliance, adding support for automated re-keying of ATMs using Trusted Security's new remote re-key module to Mosaic's Postilion application.
According to a news release, the new A98-R system extends the functionality of the existing A98-A product line by providing automated creation and distribution of cryptographic keys for ATMs.
The A98-R implements both the Certificate Based Protocol (CBP) and Signature Based Protocol (SBP) that are defined in the emerging ANSI X9.24-2 Standard on Retail Cryptographic Key Management. Diebold ATMs implement CBP; NCR ATMs implement SBP.
With the enhanced alliance with TSS, Postilion users will be able to incrementally upgrade their A98-A to an A98-R to provide a cost-effective transition to remote re-keying, according to the release.
"Adding remote keying capability to Postilion's existing A98-A automated connection was the next logical step," said TSS President Dennis "Abe" Abraham in the release. "This solution will make it easy for Mosaic users to implement the enhanced A98-R automated protocol."
Mike Bengtson, Mosaic's vice president of Product Strategy, said, "The attachment of the A98-R will provide a migration path from semi-automated key entry to fully automatic remote operations while minimizing impact on customer operations."
