SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J - ATM provider NexTran Industries, Inc., says that its affiliated company, Bio Technology Solutions, LLC, has secured exclusive North American distribution rights to VIRDI Access Control products.
According to a news release, VIRDI products use biometric fingerprint technology to replace keys, plastic cards and PINs in security door access and monitoring time and attendance.
The VIRDI products combine biometrics with additional technologies such as personal identification codes, radio frequency technology, smart cards or voice identification to provide an additional layer of security.
"One of the biggest security headaches for companies is password management," said Tony Park, senior vice president of NexTran, in the release. "VIRDI eliminates the need for employees to remember a pass code, and makes it virtually a certainty that anyone who enters a premise has access rights to be there."
VIRDI technology is currently available in three products, according to Park. One is a door lock containing a fingerprint identification system, a second provides employee time-and-attendance management, and a third is a wall pad that provides access control.
"VIRDI eliminates problems like forgotten pass codes, lost keys, and changing locks, keys or passwords when employees leave the company," he said. "With biometrics, when an employee leaves, his fingerprint is deleted from the lock system and he no longer has access."
