ATLANTA - Transaction processor Lynk Systems is the first to certify the Genesis, an ATM manufactured by WRG Services that meets the demands of distributors and their merchants who want a simple-to-operate, easy-to-maintain machine.
According to a news release, the Genesis is a cash-dispensing only ATM, sold at almost half the cost of typical retail machines. (See related story 'It's the price, stupid' says WRG with its new ATM)
"After researching consumer habits at ATMs we now understand the lack of interest in high-end ATMs: 90 percent of consumers use ATMs only for withdrawing cash and balance inquiries. That's why we created the Genesis," said Mike Stevenson, president of WRG Services.
He added, "The combination of Lynk's highly redundant processing services, the Genesis ATM and the WRG monitoring service included with all Genesis sales delivers a winning ATM solution."
The Genesis is a POS terminal-based ATM which features a UL291 Business Hours rated safe, S&G spin dial lock, thermal printer and Puloon 1,000-note cash dispenser. The machine is Triple DES compliant and meets all the encryption standards that will be in effect June 1, 2004. The Genesis' modular component design supports several factory-installed upgrades, including an illuminated topper, DeLaRue MiniMech or SDD dispenser, Level 1 safe and electronic lock, according to the release.
