IRVING, Texas - Two convenience store chains -- Rebel Oil, which operates 39 stores in the Las Vegas, Nev., area, and Kum and Go, which operates 340 stores in 13 states -- have added their ATMs to the MoneyPass surcharge-free ATM network.
The new MoneyPass participants are customers of ATM Merchant Systems, a Las Vegas-based owner and operator of ATMs.
"Our convenience store customers were delighted to add the MoneyPass Network to their ATMs," said Bart Carter, president of ATM Merchant Systems. "They all quickly recognized that MoneyPass would bring new customers into their stores and cause existing customers with MoneyPass branded cards to shop more often."
"These two MoneyPass participants significantly extend the reach of the MoneyPass brand," said Gary Staub, chief marketing officer of Genpass Technologies, operator of MoneyPass. "Their participation is further proof of the value of MoneyPass to retailers and MoneyPass cardholders."
Other retail members of MoneyPass include Minyard Food Stores and Petro Express Corp.
Genpass, the second largest ATM driver in the United States, launched MoneyPass in November. (See related story Genpass creates new surcharge-free network)
Union Planters Corporation (NYSE:UPC), which has nearly 900 ATMs located in 12 states, was the network's charter participant. More than 100 other financial institutions have since joined the network, according to Genpass.
