MUMBAI, India-NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) announced an order from the Pune-based Cosmos Cooperative Bank Limited for 50 EasyPoint 57i (ASAN) ATMs.
According to a news release, ASAN is the India-specific ATM launched by NCR last December, and was the recent winner of The Banker 2004 Technology Award in the Self-Service category.
"The Cosmos order vindicates our belief and research that ASAN-with its India-specific features and low total cost of ownership-will lead the way in increasing ATM availability in India," said Deepak Chandnani, managing director of NCR's Financial Solutions Division in India. "We launched ASAN because we were convinced that ATMs are a mass phenomenon, and with Cosmos Bank taking the lead, the self-service channel will become accessible to a larger section of banking customers in India."
