New Kerala Media: India's Punjab National Bank has introduced service charges on the withdrawal of cash from ATMs of four associate banks under its "Mitr" ATM scheme.
Withdrawals from the ATMs of four "Mitr banks" -- UTI Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank -- will carry a service charge of 20 rupees (U.S. 45 cents) per transaction, bank sources said; balance inquiries will cost five rupees (U.S. 11 cents) per inquiry.
The charges have been levied from Jan. 1. Withdrawals from PNB ATMs carry no charge.
