TOKYO - Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. has launched ATM-BankIT, a new ATM.
According to a news release, the machine features enhanced security features such as light shielding filters to protect PINs and is equipped to handle various biometric identification methods including chip cards and scanning of finger veins, palm veins and irises.
The new ATM also has a cash capacity of 14,500 notes, the largest in the industry in Japan. In addition, Oki has adopted a universal design, creating an ATM that is easy to use for the physically challenged and the elderly.
Takashi Hattori, senior vice president of Oki Electric, said, "We believe financial institutions can deploy new services using mobile phones and contact-free IC cards and deploy sales by responding to their needs such as linking with CRM servers using our ATM-BankIT."
Oki plans to begin selling the ATM-BankIT in Japan in July.
Based on TxFlow, Oki's software architecture for the retail banking industry, Oki plans to provide solutions for connecting CRM servers and bank branch terminals.
