CHICAGO - National Community Investment Fund will hold its Annual Development Banking Conference June 15-16, 2005, at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago. This year's event adds a one-day summit on workplace-based financial services.
The addition of the summit is the culmination of a partnership with FDIC to develop effective workplace-based financial services for the underbanked. It is sponsored by a broad spectrum of organizations, including FDIC, the IRS, the Center for Financial Services Innovation and the Fannie Mae Foundation.
The goal of both the conference and the summit is to improve banking practices in low income and underserved markets, both urban and rural.
"NCIF's Annual Development Banking Conference is a great resource for community banks interested in low to moderate income or immigrant markets, and for larger institutions looking for high impact investing or retail expansion via partnerships with corporate customers," said Phyllis Caldwell, president of Bank of America's Community Development Banking division and an NCIF Trustee.
