Manchester Evening News: Consumer groups in the United Kingdom have accused the government of complacency over its refusal to restrict the number of fee-charging ATMs. Ministers have rejected the findings of the influential Treasury select committee, which criticized the growth of fee-charging machines, especially in rural areas. They said they were satisfied there were other ways - such as Post Offices or cashback stores - for consumers to access their own money without having to pay extra fees. But their response has infuriated watchdog groups such as Which? and the National Consumer Council.
