LONDON - First Data Corp., an electronic commerce and payment services provider, has completed the acquisition of EuroProcessing International, a major card processor in Central and Eastern Europe, according to a news release.
First Data announced June 9 its acquisition of EuroProcessing International from Nordic private equity company Reiten & Co. Capital Partners V AS and investment company Creati AS.
The acquisition establishes First Data's presence in CEE and the Nordic region, and provides the company with an opportunity to further expand its payment experience and capabilities in some of the fastest-growing areas of Europe.
The team from EuroProcessing will lead First Data's operations in the Nordic markets, offering First Data's issuing and acquiring services to financial institutions across the region. Three-hundred and thirty employees from EuroProcessing will join First Data in Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Serbia and Montenegro, Russia, Hungary and Norway - where EuroProcessing's headquarters are located.
