NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Bangkok Bank Public Company Ltd., Thailand's largest financial institution, with 1.3 trillion baht (U.S. $30 billion) in assets, has purchased 650 Opteva ATMs running Agilis software from Diebold Inc., according to a news release. The terminals will be deployed throughout 600 branches, where BBL, one of the largest regional banks in Southeast Asia, operates a network of approximately 1,700 ATMs.
The Opteva line features security and fraud prevention mechanisms, including a fraud-resistant dispenser and card reader, consumer awareness mirrors, various lighting options, a recessed keypad and display area to reduce opportunities for PIN surfing and privacy display filters to prevent shoulder surfing. Opteva ATMs also include a Triple DES-compliant encrypted PIN pad.
