LONG BEACH, Miss. - Nearly two weeks after Hurricane Katrina made its mark on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, ATM manufacturer Triton Systems began its first full day of business at its Long Beach facilities Sept. 12.
In a news release, Triton president Brian Kett credited the hard work of his staff and the dedication of the company's business partners and said the day was "an overwhelming success."
Triton facilities received minor structural damage. In the past two weeks, Triton has been able to restore working conditions and operations. Phone lines are up and e-mail is now available. Triton is now focused on restoring all services to customers and to getting things back to normal as soon as possible.
With 80 percent of Triton's employee base reporting for work Sept. 13, Triton production lines were up and running and shipped 25 units by the end of the day.
On Sept. 13, Kett said those numbers exceeded his expectations, but were not surprising. With business operations off to such a strong start, he expects to resume normal production well ahead of schedule.
"Those of you who have worked with us know how much we pride ourselves on exceeding expectations," said Kett. "We are extremely proud of the entire Triton team. This dedication and hard work has long been the hallmark of quality Triton equipment and will continue to be for a long time to come."

Despite the two-week interruption, Kett said that Triton will unveil its newest banking ATM model at a trade show in Beijing as scheduled next week. Additionally, he stated that announcements about new product development will be made in the coming months.
Triton distributor Walt Bradley, president of W.C. Bradley Inc., in Pennsylvania said he knows how just how hard the folks at Triton work to meet their customers' needs.
"I have been worried about them, and they have been worried about me and making sure my business needs are met," said Bradley.
Tom Mann, chief operating officer with Massachusetts-based Triton distributor TRM, said, "Triton is a solid partner in the ATM industry. We knew they would come back stronger than ever. This speaks volumes for the top-notch products produced by a top-notch team. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Triton."
Neil Clark of ATM Express in Montana, another Triton distributor, said he was glad to hear that his friends at Triton were able to resume business operations so quickly. "We have customers who demand Triton equipment because of the quality workmanship and reliability. Our good business depends on Triton's good business," said Clark.
At times, Triton's main switchboard has been unable to handle the volume of calls from customers. Customers, partners and contacts are encouraged to use the direct-dial telephone numbers (228) 575-3100 as much as possible and/or e-mail the Triton staff you need to contact.
