NASHUA, N.H. - Nashua Corp., which manufactures thermal-coated papers for ATMs and other devices, announced Oct. 11 that it and Océ Printing Systems GmbH have mutually agreed to settle patent-infringement litigation. According to a news release, Océ alleged infringement by the Nashua ST-2140 and ST-466 toner containers.
As part of the agreement, Nashua will no longer offer or sell the ST-2140 and ST-466 toner containers. The company had previously determined that its toner business was non-strategic, the release stated, leading Nashau to announce its exit from the toner business in April 2005.
"Settling the Océ litigation is a positive development for Nashua as it resolves an issue that has occupied management time and attention," said Andrew Albert, chairman, president and chief executive of Nashua.
