6,000 could be affected by scam in Tokyo

Kyodo News: Mini-cameras may have been secretly installed at 52 ATMs owned by Japan's UFJ Bank in Tokyo, where they captured customer PINs from Aug. 29 to Oct. 13. About 5,900 customers have entered their PINs at ATMs where the cameras were installed, but no customers have reported any monetary account losses, bank officials said. In some cases cameras were installed at UFJ outlets in the same area during the same period, prompting the police to suspect an organized group was behind the crime.

Except for two outlets in Tokyo, the mini cameras were removed 20 minutes to two and a half hours after they were installed.
