VILLEPINTE, France - Axalto announced in a Nov. 15 news release that it has been awarded for identification, hardware and security solutions at the smart card industry's Cartes 2005 tradeshow.
Axalto pulled in three out of 10 Sesames awards - "Best ID Application of the Year," "Best Hardware of the Year" and "Best IT Security Application of the Year" (in partnership with STMicroelectronics).
The awards celebrate the unique contribution and investment of leading industry players like Axalto in developing next-generation products and solutions for the digital age.
Of the products mentioned were Axalto's Axseal and SmartFob solutions. Axseal assists in the mass production and personalization of electronic passports by incorporating a radio frequency interface into passport coversheets. SmartFob is a payment device that consists of a SIM card format module and a contactless keyfob, which can be easily equipped with a switch to avoid unauthorized transactions.
