MILWAUKEE - Metavante Corp.'s MBI Benefits business unit has been ranked No. 88 in Inc. magazine's 24th annual Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. According to a news release, MBI Benefits, which provides electronic benefit-payment services and debit cards, also ranked No. 80 on the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 500.

Metavante, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corp., acquired MBI Benefits in July 2005.

The Inc. 500 ranks privately held companies according to year-over-year sales growth from 2001-2004. The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 standings of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America are judged by percentage fiscal-year revenue growth from 2000-2004.
