LONG BEACH, Miss. - Triton Systems' vice president of engineering, Bill Jackson, was awarded at the ATM Industry Association's Conference East Feb. 16 for his commitment to the industry. Jackson earned the association's Lifetime Achievement Award for 2005.

"When you look at the global growth of the off-premise or convenient ATM over the last 10 years, and at Triton's role in that phenomenon, you see why it can be justly said that Bill, as Triton's pioneer engineer, has changed the face of self-service banking in the world," said ATMIA chief executive Mike Lee. "Not only that, but Bill has given generously of his time to put something back into the industry … through involvement in issues like disabled access to ATMs and ATM security."

Jackson is a recognized ATM industry leader and authority on ATM compliance and security. He has been called the "father of the modern dial-up ATM."

"Bill has always had the innate ability to lead a team of engineers in product design with a clear vision of the products and software that will satisfy the needs and requirements of our customers," said Ernest Burdette, Triton's founder and president emeritus, and the recipient of ATMIA's 2002 Lifetime Achievement Award. "We are very proud of Bill. He is indeed a true industry pioneer, a visionary and a great friend."

Jackson has led the design of every significant product developed in Triton's history, including its 9500 series, one of the industry's first dial-up retail ATMs.

Over the last year, Jackson guided the development of Triton's newest products - the 8100, a low-cost retail ATM, and the FT7000, Triton's first full-function banking ATM.

"It is truly an honor to be recognized by ATMIA and my peers," Jackson said. "This award is also a tribute to everyone at Triton who has been part of our success over the past 25 years."
