HAMPSHIRE, England - De La Rue Plc. announced in a news release that it is working with the U.S. Department of Treasury and the U.S. Federal Reserve to ensure that upgrades to its CPS and Cobra families of sorters meet requirements set for the United States' new $10 note.
The new note, which includes color-shifting inks, improved watermarks and a security thread, hit the market March 2.
The CPS family of sorters offers multiple hardware, detector and software options and can be integrated into customers' IT systems. It also is capable of processing more than 100,000 notes an hour.
The Cobra provides desktop cash handling, sorting more than 36,000 notes per hour.
Both systems have already successfully handled introductions of the new U.S. $20 and U.S. $50 notes.
