HERNDON, Va. - NACHA (National Automated Clearing House Association) - The Electronic Payments Association is hosting Authentication Mandate: Compliance Issues & Revenue Opportunities for Online Banking, a conference focusing on the business opportunities in financial institutions' online authentication capabilities. According to a news release, the conference also will highlight federal regulatory guidance on authentication in Internet banking.
The conference, co-hosted by NACHA's Internet Council, is slated for June 6-7 in Reston, Va.
"The FFIEC regulatory guidance is raising the bar for financial institutions' online authentication capabilities," NACHA president and chief executive Elliott C. McEntee said. "This authentication mandate, technological innovation, and the focus on enterprise-wide risk management are converging with market forces to provide a unique call to action for financial institutions to pursue strategies for new services and revenue streams."
The conference opens with McEntee and Steve M. Ellis, executive vice president at Wells Fargo and chairman of NACHA's board of directors. The two will discuss strategic insights into the opportunities afforded to FIs by the authentication mandate. Additional sessions examine critical issues such as available and emerging risk assessment tools, enhanced browser security and strategies and solutions implemented by FI decision-makers as they work toward year-end compliance.
The second day of the conference will offer two concurrent streams. One delves into implementation issues, the other explores business opportunities.
