With a network of more than 2,000 ATMs, M&T Bank was spending a lot of time and money manually distributing updates. In fact, the process was costing the bank about $500 per unit every time an update was made. The bank also wanted to automate desktop management and reduce the amount of time IT spent visiting individual desktops.

The bank's highest concerns for its ATMs and desktops were to protect customer data, increase uptime and help the bank comply with privacy requirements.
