Fiserv names new corporate controller

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - Fiserv Inc. has named Joseph Gibson senior vice president and corporate controller effective. According to a news release, Gibson will assume his new role Aug. 1.

Gibson will replace Thomas Hirsch, who was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer.

"Joe has demonstrated a great combination of technical accounting skills complemented by strong business acumen gained during his Fiserv tenure," Hirsch said.

Gibson joined Fiserv in 1999 as manager of financial reporting. In 2004, he was named CFO of the company's insurance group.
