RESTON, Va. - Affiliated Computer Services Inc., provider of business process outsourcing and information technology solutions, signed a deal with Transaction Network Services Inc., provider of business-critical network and data communications services, to provide transaction-processing networking for more than 20,000 point-of-service terminals throughout the United States.
ACS deploys POS terminals for processing electronic benefit transfer transactions in nine states, as well as 6,000 POS terminals across two states for electronic child care programs used for time and attendance, and remittance payments. EBT allows a recipient to authorize the transfer of government benefits from a Federal account to a retailer account to pay for products received. EBT is used to issue food-stamp and other benefits.
