DENVER - First Data Corp. has launched a proprietary point-of-sale terminal, the FD-100, which uses a Windows-based CE 4.2 operating system.

The terminal supports dial-up or Internet protocol communications and accommodates an add-on module for wireless fidelity capabilities. It also will replace the company's currently deployed Linkpoint AIO terminal, according to a news release.

The terminal is capable of handling credit and debit cards, prepaid cards and electronic-check acceptance.
