MILWAUKEE - Metavante Corp. announced an agreement with Unisys Corp. to offer complete hardware distribution and fulfillment services for financial institutions offering distributed check-capture services to their merchant customers. Through the deal, Metavante is expected to offer Unisys scanners, fulfillment and deployment services, and provide support directly to merchants.
Metavante is the banking and payments-technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corp.
According to a news release, the expanded offering will help Metavante become a one-stop shop.
"Fulfillment and support services are major differentiators for this team. It's not just about supplying the hardware," said Gary Wallen, vice president of payment systems for Unisys. "Capitalizing on complementary strengths, Unisys and Metavante can provide leading remote-capture solutions to help financial institutions better serve their clients and create high-performance organizations."
FIs operating globally can benefit from Unisys worldwide distribution capabilities to support clients internationally. Unisys handles the packaging and distribution of scanner hardware; Metavante offers the distributed-capture-software application and manages the relationship with the customer.
