KANSAS CITY, Mo. - H&R Block announced Dec. 21 the launch of its Emerald Prepaid MasterCard, designed to support the direct deposit of payroll and other funds.
The card is issued by H&R Block Bank to H&R Block's retail tax clients, who directly deposit their tax refunds onto the card; it also is being offered at the H & R Block tax offices nationwide.
Other features of the H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard include:
- No overdraft fees
- No set-up fees
- No transaction fees for purchases
- No minimum balance requirement
The card also provides an avenue for clients without bank accounts to avoid high check-cashing fees. The card can be used anywhere debit MasterCard is accepted. Clients can access their funds at more than 1 million MasterCard, Maestro, and Cirrus ATMs worldwide. In addition, cardholders can add cash to their accounts through 43,000 Green Dot Financial Network retailers.
