SEOUL, Korea - Nautilus Hyosung Inc. announced that it has upgraded approximately 9,600 ATMs over the last five months, all in an effort to meet Korea's demand for hardware replacements necessitated by the government's issuance of new banknotes.
According to a news release, Nautilus Hyosung also won deals to replace 6,200 ATMs throughout the country.
The country's new bills come with a variety of anti-forgery features, including color-shifting ink, holograms and intaglio images. The bills also will get smaller to comply with the standard size adopted among Organization for Economic Corporation and Development member states.
Nautilus Hyosung announced that it has launched a new ATM to meet the needs of the new banknotes. The 3090 is designed to read the new bills and offer a wide variety of add-ons, providing optimized solutions for financial institutions across areas. It also comes with automatic bill-jamming recovery and double speeds for money withdrawal.
