Calif. credit union launches 'envelope-free' ATM deposits

SAN DIEGO - USA Federal Credit Union announced that it now has ATMs that offer users envelope-free deposits using check-imaging technology.

"This technology takes ATM convenience and safety to a better and higher level," said Mary Cunningham, the credit union's president and chief executive.

In addition to checks, users can deposit stacks of cash.

USA Federal Credit Union says it is the first credit union to successfully implement the technology in conjunction with Co-Op Financial Services, the nation's largest credit union EFT network.
