TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Credit Union 24 shareholders have elected Joan Santiago of IBM Southeast Employees' Federal Credit Union to fill a retiring seat on the Credit Union 24 board, the board announced in a news release.

Shareholders also have re-elected two board members to second terms.

Santiago is the vice president of operations support for IBM Southeast, where she's worked for more than 13 years. Santiago takes the seat of Paul Simkins, one of Credit Union 24's founders.

Ray Cromer Jr., president and chief executive of Envision Credit Union, was re-elected to another term, as was Maria Garcia, senior vice president of human resources and development for Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union. Cromer is a former board chairman of the Florida Credit Union League and helped guide the Credit Union 24 network to becoming an independent corporation. Following the network's transition to a cooperative, member-owned entity in 1998, Cromer served on the board until 2002 and was re-elected in 2004. He has been chairman since June 2006.

Maria Garcia counts more than 26 years of credit-union experience and has served on the board since 2004.

"Our credit union shareholders have chosen their board of directors carefully and wisely," said Jim Park, Credit Union 24's president and CEO.
