SALTASH, England - Spinnaker International, which provides protection systems for cash in transit, has released a new version of its iBox solution, a cash-transport container that degrades cash without the use of pyrotechnic devices.
David Milner, Spinnaker's head of sales, said client feedback following the release of iBox has been positive.
"Our customers are delighted they can buy a product that withstands the rigours of an armoured vehicle but does not need charging," he said. "The previous iBox was a huge success because of its guard friendliness, and winning over the security personnel is a major factor when ensuring equipment is used correctly."
Milner said the solution has won favor because it does not require a power supply from the vehicle for charging.
iBox stains cash through plastic security bags. The Patented Spinnaker mechanism uses plastic tubes to inject bags of cash with ink at a high speeds, a necessity in the event of a robbery, the company says. iBox-Zero has an additional security feature that ensures stolen containers always activate at the scene of the crime.
