SARASOTA, Fla. - CSF International and the State Bank of Arthur in Arthur, Ill., have completed a conversion to an online ATM/debit interface built on Precision Computer Systems' Vision core banking system.
CSFi provides enterprise transaction processing and management software solutions for in-house ATM and POS-terminal driving; on-line ATM/debit issuer interfaces to core processing systems; ATM/debit card file management; ATM monitoring, including automated notification functions; and management reports.
As the preferred ATM/debit online interface provider to Precision Computer Systems, CSFi has more than 40 in-house implementations of its ATM/debit online interface in several states. CSFi also is used to power Precision Computer System's Resource Management Division, which is based in La Crosse, Wis., providing outsourced processing services to banks and credit unions.
According to a news release, State Bank made the move to the Precision system from a positive balance file/batch interface. The bank says it wanted to take advantage of implementing an online interface to the PCS Vision system.
Advantages to CSFi's ATM/debit online interface include
- Stand-in authorization capabilities when PCS Vision is unavailable, including limit checking and accessing positive balances that include the latest PCS Vision transaction activity.
- The CSFi system sequence number is displayed in the PCS Vision graphical and character user interfaces, providing the ability to identify transactions on both systems.
- Detailed transaction research capabilities using CSFi's query-builder electronic-search function. By using different "teller codes" in the offer better transaction descriptions in PCS Vision.
- Completions are matched to the original pre-authorizations, thus dropping the original memo post and replacing it with the final amount.
- Holds on cardholder accounts drop off when hard posts are processed at end of day.
- Reversals post to the same account as the original transaction.
CSFi's system will reside on a Dell/Red Hat Linux v4.0 server platform and will be protected by a UPS with orderly shutdown software. The orderly shutdown software is integrated with CSFi to protect the server against extended power outages.
Fiserv EFT will be responsible for sending acquired ATM/debit transactions to CSFi, which in turn will be responsible for sending the transaction to PCS Vision. If Vision is unavailable for authorization, CSFi will perform limit checking and authorize against a balance file that includes recent transaction activity performed on PCS Vision.
