Safeway turns to Cardtronics for ATM services

HOUSTON, Texas — Safeway Inc., one of the largest food and drug retailers in North America, has entered into an a multi-year agreement with Cardtronics Inc. under which Cardtronics will provide comprehensive ATM services in approximately 650 Safeway locations, according to a news release. Under the terms of the agreement, Cardtronics will provide a complete cash management, maintenance, customer service, monitoring and processing solution. The program is expected to be operational during the first quarter of 2008.
