( Toronto ) CityNews, Channel 24: CheckFree Corp. is releasing advanced software that will make it possible for consumers to cash paper checks on their personal PCs using remote deposit capture technology. With a flatbed scanner and an Internet connection, users can scan both sides of their checks, fill out an online form and have their checks deposited. CheckFree says it expects the technology to become a standard part of most financial institutions' online banking programs.
