GUANGZHOU, China — GRG Banking's foreign consultant, Dr. Do Duc Cuong, has received the Guangzhou City Award and the Yangcheng Friendship Award from the Guangzhou municipal government.
Some 46 foreign experts were nominated, but only 14 of them received awards.
Dr. Do Duc Cuong, a former senior executive of Citibank, has dozens of years of experience in the self-service banking industry. He has played an important role in GRG's product positioning and standardization. With the help of Dr. Do Duc Cuong, GRG successfully made a breakthrough in Vietnam in 2003, which made GRG a major supplier of the Vietnamese banking industry — a relationship which also resulted in an expansion to other overseas countries. Today, GRG products are recognized by more than 40 countries.
The Yangcheng Friendship Award, the highest honor to foreign talents that the Guangzhou government confers, is set up for the foreign experts who make contributions to the city's economic construction and social development.
"GRG Banking now is a listed company on the China Stock Market and they will make greater progress within the domestic market and abroad", Dr. Do Duc Cuong said, "I am very proud to be a contributor to this achievement."
