NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Diebold Inc. has signed a deal with Union Bank to supply 120 new ATMs for its branches in Nigeria.
The Opteva 520 lobby cash dispenser, one of Diebold's most compact ATMs, is expected to help Union Bank expand its ATM network across the country as well as improve branch efficiency.
And, according to a news release, the deal with Union Bank marks the latest in a number of recent deals for Diebold in Nigeria.
"After the installations have taken place, we will work with Union Bank to maximize the geographical spread of its ATM network, allowing us to combat problems found in banks in smaller towns, such as unreliable power supplies and difficult accessibility for service," said Cliff Meinhardt, Diebold's vice president and general manager for Central Europe.
