SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The ATM Industry Association has called for nominations and applications for its three industry awards for 2008. At the same time, the association announced the launch of a new global award, one that is being given with ATM Marketplace, called the ATM Industry Award for Excellence.
According to news release, the Award for Excellence replaces ATMIA's "Best Contribution to the Industry — Individual or Organization" award.
"It will be a coveted, global award," said Tracy Kitten, editor of ATM Marketplace.
The other two awards are the Lifetime Achievement Award — Individual, awarded by the executive board of ATMIA, and Best Contributor to ATM Security, awarded by the executive committee of the Global ATM Security Alliance.
The deadline for all nominations this year is Sept. 25.
"ATMIA is excited about working together with ATM Marketplace to ensure the new award for excellence is truly representative of the global industry. The invitation to compete for the award will be internationally marketed through ATMIA and ATM Marketplace," said Mike Lee, chief executive of ATMIA.
To be considered for the award, at least one criterion must be met:
- Long-term positive influence on improving the industry
- Excellence in technology or levels of service
- Leadership in applying best practices
- Specific and measurable achievements in producing tangible results
Following an international campaign, a shortlist of nominations will be sent to more than 1,000 members of ATMIA in 50 countries to select the winner.
