NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Diebold Inc. has been granted an additional period for continued listing and trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the company said Wednesday.
According to a news release, the extension runs through Oct. 31, at which time it will be subject to reassessment. The NYSE had threatened to delist Diebold because of its tardiness in filing up-to-date financial reports for year-end 2007; the second, third and fourth quarters of 2007; and the first and second quarters of 2008 with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
During this extension period, trading of the company's shares will remain unaffected. If filings during the extension period are not made current, the NYSE could grant another extension or initiate delisting.
Diebold says it still expects to file its delinquent financial statements sometime this month, following its completion of an internal review.
