Nautilus Hyosung says global ATM shipments topped 20K in '08

SEOUL, Korea — Nautilus Hyosung, the parent of Nautilus Hyosung America Inc., says in 2008 that it shipped more than 29,000 ATMs globally.
According to a news release, in 2008, Nautilus Hyosung was selected as a global Citibank partner and began installing ATMs in Citibank branches throughout the United States. Fully equipped with advanced financial hardware and software, Nautilus Hyosung says it differentiated its value proposition by providing a highly cost-effective means of managing self-service in the branches through its ATM application software and full line up of financial ATMs with highly efficient deposit automation capability.
"In the U.S., Nautilus Hyosung is well known as a leading vendor in the retail ATM market, but our extensive knowledge in self-banking services in Korea, combined with our experience in overseas markets, gave us competitive advantage in terms of the cost and our capability in meeting the exact needs of our customers in the quickest manner possible," said J.H. Moon, Nautilus Hyosung's vice president of sales. "2007 was a great year for us due to huge ATM replacement initiatives in Korea. But 2008 has opened more doors of opportunities for our future expansion in the global market. We continue to push our products into China and India, where we believe the growth potential in those countries is still great. Nautilus Hyosung also strengthened its market dominance in North America by supplying over 20,000 ATMs, topping its 2007 figure of 14,000 units. 2009 will be a better year as we expect ATM replacement initiatives by Korean banks, due to a currency change, combined with strong overseas sales."
